DES Migration Checklist

A reference-only checklist for inventorying DES dependencies and recording the parameters needed to migrate historical ciphertext.

Inventory before migration

DES execution is disabled. Before moving historical data, identify where DES is used and record every parameter that affects decryption.

Migration sequence

Keep the old decryptor isolated, decrypt a controlled batch, validate the plaintext, then re-encrypt with a reviewed authenticated scheme such as AES-GCM. Do not create new DES ciphertext during the transition.

Usage boundaries and result checks

DES Migration Checklist is for this task: Record the old DES mode, IV, padding, encoding, and test vectors; runtime execution is disabled. It runs in the browser; start with a short, non-sensitive sample and confirm the behavior before processing more data.

Best use

Use it for a focused DES Migration Checklist task when a quick browser workbench is appropriate.

Input

text, an encoded string, or the data format named by the tool

Output

an encoded, decoded, or compatibility-check result

Before reuse

For DES Migration Checklist: Confirm the character set, byte boundary, and target protocol. Encoding is not encryption. See the test method.
